The Remedies That Made the Lal Kitab Famous

Ask why millions of people follow the Lal Kitab and the answer is almost always its remedies. Where classical texts prescribe costly gemstones and long rituals, the Lal Kitab says: offer water to the rising Sun, feed a dog, keep a piece of silver, give away a little oil. Simple acts, done at home, that anyone can afford. But they come with one firm condition that most lists online leave out — a remedy is for a planet in your chart, not for everybody.

That is the whole point of reading the remedies from your Lal Kitab teva. A planet that is weak, debilitated, asleep or carrying a debt needs help; a planet that is already doing well does not, and a remedy for it can disturb what is working. So the first question is never "which remedy?" but "which planet?".

What you get from the calculator above: which planets in your teva need a remedy and how urgently, the one remedy to start with, the full remedies for each planet that needs help, remedies for your other planets for extra strength, and the rules for doing Lal Kitab remedies correctly.

Lal Kitab upay: in daylight, for 43 days, one planet at a time — and a relative can help.

Which Planets in Your Lal Kitab Teva Need a Remedy

The Lal Kitab looks for four kinds of trouble. A planet in its house of debilitation — Mars in the fourth, Saturn in the first, the Sun in the seventh. A planet asleep, holding back the good it promises; the sleeping planets page explains which. A planet carrying one of the nine debts of planets. And a planet surrounded by its enemies in its own house.

The calculator weighs all of these and marks each planet as urgent, recommended or optional. It then names the one remedy to start with — the planet whose trouble touches your life most.

Lal Kitab Remedies Planet by Planet

Every planet has its own family of remedies in the Lal Kitab. These are some of the best known — a guide to the kind of act each planet asks for, not a list to do all at once:

PlanetLooks AfterTypical Upay
SunRespect, the father, the governmentOffer water to the rising Sun; honour your father
MoonPeace of mind, the motherTake your mother's blessings; keep silver; serve water and milk
MarsCourage, brothers, propertyKeep peace with brothers; share sweets; give red lentils
MercurySpeech, trade, sisters, daughtersRespect sisters and daughters; give green moong
JupiterGuidance, elders, learningApply saffron or turmeric tilak; serve elders and teachers
VenusMarriage, comfort, moneyRespect your spouse; feed a cow
SaturnHard work, property, long lifeGive mustard oil; feed crows; help those who work for you
RahuSudden gains, links abroadKeep a square piece of silver; give barley
KetuChildren, travel, inner peaceFeed a dog; look after the children of the family

The exact remedy depends on the house the planet sits in — the same Saturn asks for different acts in the first house and the tenth. Your own remedies, house by house, are in the calculator's reading.

The Rules for Doing Lal Kitab Remedies

The Lal Kitab is as firm about how a remedy is done as about which remedy it is. Do it in daylight, between sunrise and sunset. Keep it up for 40 to 43 days without a break, and if a day is missed, start the count again. Take one planet at a time and finish its remedy before beginning the next. And if you cannot do it yourself, a blood relative can do it for you.

Faith helps, but steadiness matters more. A remedy done every day for six weeks, quietly and without fuss, is the Lal Kitab's idea of how a planet is set right.

What Not to Do With Lal Kitab Remedies

Do not do remedies for planets that are working well; you may weaken what is helping you. Do not wake a sleeping malefic — a harsh planet that sleeps is best left asleep. Do not stack a dozen remedies from different lists; mixed remedies can work against each other, and you will never know which one helped.

And do not treat a remedy as a substitute for effort or for proper care. The Lal Kitab removes obstacles; it does not replace a doctor, a lawyer or hard work.

Lal Kitab Totke and Real Remedies

Lal Kitab totke — lists of quick remedies for money, marriage or a job — are everywhere. The acts themselves usually come from the book, but the book never gives them without a chart. A totka for Saturn helps the person whose Saturn is troubled; for someone whose Saturn is strong, it can do harm.

So the right way to use any Lal Kitab totka is backwards from the usual: read your Lal Kitab teva first, find the planet behind the trouble, and only then pick the remedy for that planet. The calculator does exactly that.

A Worked Example: My Own Lal Kitab Teva

Here is how I would approach remedies for my own Lal Kitab teva. Every placement is the real one.

  1. The First Candidate: MarsMars sits in the fourth house, which is Cancer in the Lal Kitab — its house of debilitation. In my ordinary birth chart the same Mars is in its own sign, which is exactly why a reading of the teva matters: this is the planet I would look at first for a remedy.
  2. What to Leave AloneThe Moon is exalted in the second house. An exalted planet needs no remedy, and doing one for it would gain nothing.
  3. The Debts Come NextThe crowded second house shows the classic patterns behind pitra rin and stri rin. If the calculator confirms them, their family remedies follow once the first remedy is complete.
  4. One at a TimeMars first, for 43 days, in daylight. Only then the next planet.

That order — the most troubled planet first, the strong planets left alone, the debts after — is how the calculator builds its list for you, and it is how I would ask anyone to follow it.

Questions

Lal Kitab Remedies: Questions People Ask

Lal Kitab remedies, or upay, are small, specific acts given for a planet that is troubling a chart — offering water to the rising Sun, feeding a dog, keeping a square of silver, giving certain things away. They are cheap, simple and done at home, which is why the Lal Kitab is so widely followed.

Only the remedies your own Lal Kitab teva calls for. A remedy is given for a planet that is weak, debilitated, asleep or carrying a debt, and doing remedies for a planet that is already working well can upset it. The calculator shows which planets need a remedy and the one to start with.

Usually for 40 to 43 days in a row, without a break. If a day is missed, the count starts again. Some remedies are done once, and some are kept up as a habit.

In daylight, between sunrise and sunset. Remedies done after dark are generally avoided in the Lal Kitab.

It is better not to. The Lal Kitab advises one planet at a time: finish the remedy for one, then begin the next. That also makes it clear which remedy is working.

Yes. If you cannot do a remedy yourself, a blood relative — a parent, a brother or sister, a child — can do it on your behalf.

Totke is the everyday word for the same small acts. In the Lal Kitab they are always tied to a planet in your chart; done blindly from a list, without reading the teva, they can as easily disturb a good planet as help a weak one.

Yes. The planets that need a remedy, the remedy to start with, the full remedies planet by planet and the rules for doing them are all free.
