How an Online Puja Is Performed
In my family, puja has been done on behalf of people who could not be present for as
long as anyone can remember. A son working in another city, a daughter married abroad,
an elderly mother who could no longer sit through three hours of ritual — the
pandit took the sankalp in their name, and the puja was theirs. Online puja is that
same practice. The one thing that is new is that you can now watch it happen.
When you book, you give us your name and gotra. On the day, the pandit begins with
Ganesh vandana, takes the sankalp in your name, and then performs the puja in its
proper order: the avahan, the offerings, the mantras and the aarti. Nothing is
shortened because the devotee is watching on a screen.
Does Online Puja Work If I Am Not Present?
It is the question I am asked most often, and the answer is in the sankalp. The force
of a puja rests on the declared intention, made in your name by someone qualified to
make it. Distance has never been part of that rule. What does matter is that you are
with it in mind: sit quietly while the puja runs, light a diya at home if you can, and
keep that hour for nothing else.
Which Puja Should You Book?
Lakshmi puja online is for
money that comes in and will not stay, a business that has gone quiet, and the steady
prosperity of a household.
Ganesh puja online is done
before a beginning — a new shop, a new job, an admission, a marriage, a long
journey — so the way is cleared before the first step is taken.
Grah Pravesh puja is for
the day you move into a new home, or into one that has stood empty for a long time.
When a trouble is specific and keeps returning — a marriage that is delayed again
and again, a career that stops at the same point every few years — the cause is
usually in the chart. Make your free
kundli first, or chat with
an astrologer, and book the puja that answers what your chart actually shows.
Picking the Date and the Muhurat
You choose the date that suits you. Our team then fixes the exact time on that day
from the panchang — the tithi, the nakshatra and the
choghadiya — and
tells you before the puja. Lakshmi Puja is strongest on Diwali, on Fridays and on
Purnima; Ganesh Puja on a Wednesday or on Chaturthi; Grah Pravesh on a muhurat chosen
for the house itself. To plan ahead, the
Hindu festivals
calendar lists the important days of the year.
Online Puja: Common Questions
How does online puja booking work?
You choose a puja, pick a date and pay online. Our team fixes the muhurat time on that date, performs the puja with a sankalp in your name and gotra, and you watch it live from your Astromitra account.
Can I watch my puja live?
Yes. An online puja is shown live, and you join it from your Astromitra account at the time we confirm for you.
Is the puja performed in my name and gotra?
Yes. You give your name and gotra when you book, and the pandit takes the sankalp in your name before the puja begins. If you do not know your gotra, the sankalp is taken in Kashyap gotra, as tradition allows.
Who arranges the puja samagri?
For an online puja, our team arranges all the samagri. For a puja at your home in Delhi, you arrange it, and we send you the list once the booking is made.
Can I choose the time of the puja?
You choose the date; our team sets the exact time on that day from the panchang, so the puja is done in a proper muhurat, and tells you before the puja.
Can I book an online puja from outside India?
Yes. Online puja can be booked from any country, and outside India the price is shown and paid in US dollars.
