What A Vedic Career Report Answers

Nobody comes to an astrologer asking about their tenth house. They come asking something plainer — should I take this offer, why does the promotion keep going to somebody else, is it time to start something of my own. Those questions have answers in a chart, but not in the place most people look.

A career reading is really three questions stacked on top of each other. What is this person built to do? Are they built to be employed or to run their own thing? And when does the chart actually open the door? Miss any one of them and the advice is half-useful: the right field at the wrong time is as frustrating as the wrong field at the right one.

This report answers those three and stops there. If you want the whole chart read — marriage, health, children, the lot — that is the instant life report, and it covers work in one section rather than in six.

Dasamsa (D10) — The Vedic Career Chart

Your birth chart shows the whole of your life in twelve houses, and the tenth of them is livelihood. That is a beginning, not an answer. Jyotish has a divisional chart kept for this one subject — the Dasamsa, or D10, drawn by dividing every sign into ten parts and reading where each graha lands.

It is where a career question is settled. A tenth house that looks strong in the birth chart and weak in the Dasamsa is a career that promises more than it delivers; the reverse is somebody whose work quietly outgrows what their chart seemed to allow. This report reads both — and says plainly when the two disagree, which is the part most free tools never reach, because most of them never draw the D10 at all.

What Arrives In The PDF

  • Two charts, drawn. D1 (birth) and D10 (Dasamsa), side by side.
  • The planetary table. Every graha with its degree, house and nakshatra — and its dignity in all three charts: D1, D9 and D10. One table, and the whole argument is visible in it.
  • The tenth house, read with its neighbours. The 10th for the work itself, the 6th for daily routine and competition, the 2nd for what you accumulate, the 11th for what actually reaches you, and the 7th for partnerships and business.
  • Atmakaraka and Amatyakaraka. The graha that carries your soul's drive and the one that carries your profession, compared side by side — Jaimini's own way of answering "what am I for?"
  • Fields, named. Not "creative work" — the actual kinds of role the chart supports, with the placements each one rests on.
  • Job or business. A verdict, with a figure on it, and the reasoning laid out: what the chart says about working under structure and what it says about working for yourself.
  • Dasha timing. Mahadasha, antardasha and pratyantardasha with dates, each read for workplace dynamics, skills being tested, money, and what to avoid.
  • Remedies. Down to the stone's weight, the finger, the day and the mantra — for the grahas your chart actually needs them for.

Job Or Business — What The 10th And 7th Houses Say

This is the question people most want answered and most often get fudged. The chart has a view on it. A strong sixth house and a disciplined Saturn point towards structure — somebody who builds real expertise inside an organisation and earns steadily. A tenth lord sitting in the seventh, or a well-placed Jupiter in a partnership house, points the other way: towards clients, ventures, work you bring in yourself.

Most charts carry some of both, which is why "you should do business" on its own is useless advice. So the report gives you the balance as a figure, and then the part that actually helps — the order. Build the skill inside a job first, then step out; or start on your own and hire the discipline you lack. Two different lives, and the chart usually has a preference.

Dasha Timing — When Your Career Actually Moves

The Vimshottari dasha is what turns a chart into a calendar. This report takes the period you are living through and breaks it down three levels deep — the mahadasha, the antardasha inside it, and the pratyantardasha inside that — each with its dates.

Every stretch is read the same way: what happens at work, which skills get tested, what to do with money, and what to keep away from. Read end to end, the section tells you which months to push for the raise, which to spend quietly building, and which to leave a good job alone.

One Year Or Five — Your Choice

  • One year. For a decision in front of you now — an offer, a resignation, a move you are weighing this month.
  • Two or three years. For planning: when to switch, when to study, when to ask.
  • Five years. For the whole arc — the years that carry weight and the ones that will ask for patience, mapped end to end.

The reading is the same in each; the dasha section grows with the years you choose, and so does the file.

What You Need To Order Your Career Report

Your date of birth, your time of birth, and the place — and the number of years you want covered. Nothing to write, no questionnaire.

Birth time matters more here than in most readings, because the Dasamsa moves ten times faster than the birth chart: a few minutes either way can change it completely. If your time is uncertain, take the reading for what it still holds — the grahas' signs, the dasha sequence, the nakshatras — and say so to yourself while you read. Our free kundli will show you the chart before you decide.

Common Questions

How is this different from the life report?

The life report covers everything — all twelve houses, in one pass. This one takes a single subject and goes deeper into it: the Dasamsa is drawn, the 10th house is read with the four houses that support it, the career significators get a section of their own, and the dasha is broken to the third level rather than the second. If work is the question, this is the reading; if you want the whole chart, take the instant life report.

How many years should I choose?

One year if there is a decision in front of you now. Three if you are planning a move. Five if you want the whole arc — which years carry weight and which will ask for patience. The reading itself is the same in each; what grows is the dasha section.

Does it name actual jobs?

It names the kinds of role your chart supports and says which placements each one rests on — consulting, analysis, design, teaching, technical work, and so on, with the reasoning attached. What it will not do is invent a job title for you. A chart points at a direction; the choosing is yours.

Is this written by an astrologer?

No, and we would rather say so than let you find out. It is built by our own system from the classical rules — Parashari, Lahiri ayanamsa, Vimshottari dasha, with the Dasamsa and the Jaimini karakas — applied to your chart. Thorough, and yours alone, but nobody sat down with it. If that is what you want, the personalized career report is read and prepared by Jyotish Acharya Pramod Sharma himself and takes a few working days.

How quickly does it arrive?

Usually within ten minutes of payment, emailed as a PDF. You do not have to wait on any page while it is prepared — close the tab and it will reach you. The same file stays in My Reports for ninety days.

Can I order it for somebody else?

Yes. Add their birth details as a chart in your account and order against it. Parents order these for children at the point of choosing a stream or a first job more often than for themselves.
